You aren’t active in your community.
While this isn’t a necessity, many attorneys find it gratifying to join the communities that they serve in a meaningful way. For example, they might volunteer their services pro bono for a community center, or they might become a legal consultant for local businesses and non-profits. There are also national organizations for lawyers in specific fields or with particular interests. By connecting with like-minded people, you can enrich your practice on both a personal and professional level. If you aren’t inspired to act outside of mandatory obligations, this may be telling.
